Harvard Business Review described the Fair Food Program’s Worker-driven Social Responsibility (WSR) model as “One of the most important social impact stories of the past century.”

The US Department of Labor said it was “something every grower and food retailer should be part of.”

In this thought-provoking webinar, Alysha Shivji, (Research Professor at the Egade Business School, THIRST Associate Consultant, and co-author of Human Rights in the Tea Sector – The Big Picture Part 1.) offers insights on how principles of the Worker-driven Social Responsibility model could potentially be applied to the tea industry.

Rafaela Rodríguez from the WSR Network joined us to discuss WSR in more detail as well as the broader impacts of the model and its applications in different sectors. She shares the experience of how Ben and Jerry’s has engaged with WSR in its dairy supply chain and what lessons can be drawn from that and other examples.

The presentations were followed by a rich discussion with contributions from Fairtrade and from tea companies and NGOs.
